Always… Patsy Cline

Created and Directed by Ted Swindley – based on a true story

Always, Patsy Cline is based on the true story of Patsy Cline’s friendship with Houston housewife Louise Seger. Having first heard Cline on the “Arthur Godfrey Show” in 1957, Seger became an immediate and avid fan of Cline’s and she constantly hounded the local disc jockey to play Cline’s records on the radio. In 1961 when Cline went to Houston for a show, Seger and her buddies arrived about an hour-and-a-half early and, by coincidence, met Cline who was traveling alone. The two women struck up a friendship that was to culminate in Cline spending the night at Seger’s house -a friendship that lasted until Cline’s untimely death. – That’s where our story begins.

Abby Thomas
Patsy Cline

A native of Pineville, Louisiana, Abby has been involved in theater for her entire life, but took an almost 4 year break after graduating from ULM with her bachelors in Communication. She currently works at the University in the Office of Recruitment. This is her second main stage show at Strauss, previously playing Marta in Company. She has described her ideal show as one where she could just sing the whole time, so playing Patsy has been a dream come true! Some of her previous notable roles include Rosie in Bye Bye Birdie and Catherine in Pippin, both during her time at ULM.

Danielle Hudleston Humble
Louise Seger

Dani is proud to be gracing the Strauss stage after an almost 4 year hiatus. She wants to thank her husband, Aaron Humble, for his continued support and patience with watching their rambunctious two year old while she has been doing this show. She cannot wait for everyone to enjoy the life she has breathed into her unique perspective of Patsy’s best friend Louise.
