June Tunes

Strauss Theatre is hosting a digital open call for opening acts for our second annual Singer Songwriter Series! June Tunes is coming back for 2024, with a show each Saturday of the month. Thanks to a grant from the Jazz & Heritage Foundation, we are able to add a 45-minute opener to each show with a fee of $500 per act, and we are prioritizing local musicians to fill those spots. The Strauss Singer Songwriter series is an intimate musical experience that combines music with visual art and makers with a focus on all things local. Come play on the stage of the Strauss for the coolest concert series in Northeast Louisiana! Submit your entry at strausstheatre.com/junetunes.

Guidelines: Each opening act will have 30-45 minutes to play, with a showtime of 6:30. Keep in mind that you will be performing in front of the curtain, to keep setup and teardown to a minimum with the minimal volunteers and staff that the Strauss can provide.

Date of performance, sound check times, and any details will be coordinated upon selection to the series. The selection committee is composed of the June Tunes committee, from the Strauss Theatre Board members.

Note: acts must be 16 years of age or older
