Unlike mainstream country music, bluegrass is traditionally played on acoustic stringed instruments. The fiddle, five-string banjo, guitar, mandolin, and upright bass (string bass) are often joined by the resonator guitar (also referred to as a Dobro) and (occasionally) harmonica. You will hear all of these instruments and more at Sanders Family Christmas!

Nicole Goode is a Monroe native. She attended Louisiana State University-Baton Rouge and Baylor University. Currently Nicole works two jobs: Ad Set Supervisor at Kohl’s Department Store and part-time associate in Genealogy/Special Collections at the Ouachita Parish Public Library. She enjoys reading, cosplay, binging TV, and relaxing when she finds the time. Since Fall 2015, she has been appearing in shows here at the Strauss Theater Center, most recently as Aunt March in Little Women. Her favorite role, though, is June Sanders which she is pleased to be reprising. She wants to give a big thank you to her fellow cast and crew members.

Micaela is a senior at Cedar Creek School in Ruston and will be attending Mississippi College next fall in the pre-medical program. She has appeared in several main stage shows including My Fair Lady, Nice Work if You Can Get it, and most recently, Godspell. She is excited to be taking part in her first main stage Christmas show as the ditzy and beloved Denise Sanders.

Hey folks, Bob Chambless here, Director of Sanders Family Christmas. We’ve been working very hard on this Smoke on the Mountain sequel and the cast has really become a very close family. We celebrated Thanksgiving together this past weekend with a Thanksgiving meal provided by the show caterer – Gator Girls. In fact, we got a chance to sample the exact food audience members will eat at this Dinner Theatre and let me tell you – best food I’ve had all holiday season!
