Rehearsals for Who’s in Bed With The Butler are in full swing.  The actors are finding their characters and have large chunks of dialog memorized.  It is a very satisfying feeling to know the right people are in the right places.  We are very fortunate to have such talented people.  Truly.   Our butler, Phillip Sheridan, is new to Strauss Theatre and he is perfect!  Audiences are going to love him!

Glenn Williams On-Stage at Strauss

My first experience with theater happened right here on the Strauss stage just 4 years ago, when my wife and I both tried out for, and got roles in, the play Southern Hospitality. It was such an amazing experience to work with Strauss veterans such as Troy Wold, Brenda Rowan, Wendy Wilson, and many others. They were all extremely welcoming and supportive of me, and we all bonded right away. Read More

Matt Wilkins On-Stage at Strauss

“Besides small roles, I haven’t done many shows for the Strauss in a while. Usually it’s due to work or other conflicts but this coming February, I invite you to come see me in “Who’s in Bed with the Butler?” A hilarious, face paced comedy starring some of the Strauss’ best talent! I have the honor of playing “Vance” a hard-nosed attorney who’s trying to get back the valuable assets of the late Mr Olden’s estate for his estranged daughter Constance. As Vance tries to swindle and coerce the three ladies in the will, little does he know how involved the butler is in the situation.”
Who’s in Bed with the Butler is directed by Terri Cunningham, who directed the smash hit “Sister Act” last season at the Strauss. With her keen vision and eye for comedy, she’s directed us through a show that STILL has the cast laughing. Believe me, you don’t want to miss this one! So stop by the box office and get yours tickets today! Showtimes at Jan 31,  Feb 1, 2, 3, 8 & 9.  Call our Box Office at 318-323-6681 or purchase ONLINE.

Kelly Aaen On-Stage at Strauss

The Strauss would like to welcome Kelly Aaen back to our stage. After a 20 year hiatus, she is embracing the role of Constance Olden with as much dour austerity that she can muster!  Kelly says that she feels honored to work with Director Terri Cunningham again and loves getting to know this talented cast.

Who’s in Bed with the Butler’s author, Michael Parker

Michael Parker’s “Who’s in Bed with the Butler” will be presented by Strauss Theatre Center on January 31  February 1, 2, 3, 8, 9 .

Michael Parker was raised in the theatre in England, winning  awards during his early teenage years for his performances, and touring at age 17 with the National Shakespearean Youth Company.  A graduate of the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, he served five years in the military, then, as he said, finding that the general need for anti-tank specialists was not so great, he moved to Canada, where he established a business that was so successful that after ten years he sold it and retired to the Caribbean, then was drawn to Florida to work in theatre.
