Director’s Update – Brenda Rowan

What a great audience dress last night for The Cover of Life!  There are only seven in my cast, so we had a relatively small turn out.  But that didn’t stop my cast from giving all they had.  The audience loved them!  At intermission, many said they were taken in by the story from the beginning and couldn’t wait for Act II!  Read More

Director’s Update – The Cover of Life

Cast is really doing well.  Running complete show without stopping and no line prompts.  My cast is amazing and performed beyond my expectations.  The Cover of Life is a true story of southern women during the WW2 period.  In honor of the real “Tood”, Ollie Marzelle Fife, we’ve added a cute Jitterbug that Tood and Tommy do to the tune of Glenn Miller’s “In the Mood”. Still perfecting it but it’s coming along really well.  They are really cute together!  Come see what you think.

Making my main stage debut alongside such a remarkable cast is such a treat. The character of “Tood” is described as a determined dreamer. A family friend of the real life “Tood” says, “she didn’t know what she wanted, but she knew what she didn’t want.”
“Tood” and I have a lot in common; Being able to bring her to life has been a beautiful experience as an actor, and I will always have a special place in my heart for this production. Seeing a dream on the horizon and working toward it is something that we can all relate to.  We are all chasing something.
‘Thankful’ is such an understatement. I’m beyond grateful for the opportunity to work with such a talented group of people.
